With a month to go before my enlistment, i've done it. I've taken a leap of faith,
And she didn't let me down.
"The couple sat by the benches, at the park. It was quiet; a quiet night. Heart thumping, hands shaking, he reached out.
She asks
"Are my hands shaking?"
"I dont know, maybe?"
Silence ensues. He casts his mind around for a topic. Any topic. And stops. He looks inwards, and he is puzzled by what he sees.
"You know, i'm really happy that you accepted. This was unlike the previous time. This time, i actually felt nervousness, and i needed a crap load of courage to do this. it was like," cmon weesiang, you can do it, where did your balls go..."
"and im also really happy that you did not reject me. i fear rejection more than anything. i die a little on the inside whenever she rejected me when i tried to reach out to her in the past."
silence ensues yet again. "I'm trying to explain my feelings using logic. See, the first one was probably 5 percent of how happy i feel. The next, another 5 percent. The remaining 90% are like dancing and jumping around inside, shooting fireworks n crap."
She looks down. "ehh, i think it's your hands that are shaking"
"no shit""
Falling in love is a wonderful feeling. But it can be halted, seeing that falling is the process.
Processes are reversible. It is true. Thus, to ensure permanance, the process has to end.
She has to fall in love with me. Because i cannot lose her. And I know that she cannot lose me.
